The birth of Crystal16
When the scientific company Avantium came to Darling and asked to develop a marketing program around a revolutionary research tool, we took one look at the somewhat plain machine and suggested to spend the money redesigning the machine first. We also renamed it and called it the Crystal 16 for its capabilities of crystallizing 16 tests at once. The result was a machine that looked worthy of the expensive price tag that usually comes with breakthrough products like these. In this case, we proved that marketing sometimes takes a back seat to design.
